As the 2011-2012 President of the Oakland County Region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan – the Women’s Bar Association (“W.B.A.”) – I would like to personally welcome you to the W.B.A. Thank you for your membership. Please know that we are delighted you have joined us. Your membership and participation are vital in our endeavor to continue to “promote equality and social justice for all people”.
Through your participation in the W.B.A.’s enrichment activities, topical meetings, and networking and mentorship events, we are confident that you will find, as we have, that W.B.A. membership is rewarding, both professionally and personally.
We are already off to a banner year in terms of events and membership benefits, and it is shaping up to be a really great year in that regard. Information regarding the next upcoming W.B.A. event can be found on the “Events” link page of this website. We greatly look forward to seeing you there!
If you are interested in an Executive Board position or in becoming more involved in the W.B.A., please let me know. I would love to introduce you to our Executive Board members as well as to those women currently serving on our various Committees. Committee work is a great way to familiarize yourself with upcoming plans and activities and to get involved right away.

Congratulations to WBA member Channelle Kizy-White, who has recently been honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as an Up & Coming Lawyer for 2011. Her practice focuses on family law and criminal defense. She has been involved with the WBA for the number of years and we are so proud to see her honored with this award!
